Bukan nak cari salah, tetapi perkara salah ejaan pada ayat yang terlalu biasa sepatut nya tidak berlaku. Mustahil tidak ada yang perasan perkataan amalam itu salah yang sepatut nya amalan. Apa salah 'touch-up sikit 'M' tu jadi 'N', bukan susah pun.....guna liquid paper dengan marker pen hitam pun boleh. Ini menunjukan bahawa orang yang dipertanggungjawabkan atas urusan 'banner' ini ambil mudah. Mula mula ambil mudah perkara kecil, lama kelamaan ambil mudah perkara besar.

Bila cerita bab salah eja ini aku teringat kepada satu program yang sepatutnya dilancarkan oleh Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang terpaksa dibatal ekoran kesilapan ejaan pada risalah dan sepanduk. Lim Guan Eng membatalkan majlis pelancaran 30,000 risalah dan sepanduk bagi penyebaran program penghargaan warga emas berikutan berlaku kesilapan ejaan di bahagian muka hadapan risalah.

Arahan pembatalan itu dikeluarkan serta-merta oleh Guan Eng selepas ditegur beberapa wartawan yang menyedari kesilapan berkenaan, antaranya ejaan ”kearaajaan” (sepatutnya dieja kerajaan) dan penghinaaan (penghinaan). Berita lanjut boleh rujuk sini: Utusan Malaysia 5/5/2010

Illusi graviti - mata memang mudah tertipu

Lihat gambar diatas dan kemudian lihat klip video. Dalam video di bawah ini, bola miniatur meleret keatas melalui alur seolah-olah ditarik oleh magnet yang berada ditengah tengah. Nampak seperti tidak mungkin kerana menentang graviti. Illusi ini bukan teknik komputer kerana tidak ada sebarang komputer grafik digunakan. Hanya 'cardboard', gam (glue), dan beberapa bola kayu.

Illusi "seni luar biasa" ini dicipta oleh Koukichi Sugihara. Selepas melihat klip video, apa yang berlaku sebenar nya adalah mata kita melihat gerakan bola yang sebenar nya turun tetapi disalahartikan sebagai gerakan bola menaik. Apa yang menakjubkan ialah bagaimana Koukichi mengatur illusi ini dalam 'angle' 3-dimensi dan gerak fizikal, bukan dengan gambar 2-dimensi.

MERANTAU !!!. Di mana filem kita?

Mintak maaf kengkawan !. Saja nak cerita kosong.....

Sambil sambil 'surfing internet' sesekali mata dok toleh jugak ke kaca TV. Filem 'PENDEKAR' ditayangkan di TV3. Filem yang bertemakan 'SILAT' ini adalah keluaran tahun 1977 (aku tingkatan 5 la..) dan dibintangi antara lain oleh Deddy M.Borhan, Aziz Jaafar, Malik Selamat, A.Rahim, Teh Faridah dan Noor Azizah. Turut membintangi adalah pelakon Indonesia yang terkenal pada masa itu, Farouk Afero.

Secara kebetulan semasa meng'google' aku terjumpa pulak 1 filem terbitan dari Indonesia yang aku tak pernah dengar pun sebelum ini. Tajuk filem tersebut ialah 'MERANTAU' diterbitkan pada 2009. Kalau tengok tajuk macam cerita sedih aja, tapi sebenar nya filem ini bertemakan 'SILAT'. Mungkin promosi nya tak hebat macam promosi filem di Malaysia. Di Malaysia, promosi nya memang hebat tapi filem nya banyak yang berstatus hampas.

Kalau tengok dari aksi pertarungan nya, filem ini tak kalah kalau nak dibanding dengan filem filem Kungfu Jacky Chan dari Hongkong dan filem 'Ongbak' dari Thailand. Malaysia bila lagi nak buat filem macam 'MERANTAU'. Tak kan nak harap filem 'PENDEKAR' tu aje kan!!!. Aksi pertarungan tak 'real' langsung. Mungkin dulu kira okey tapi sekarang buat penonton gelak saja. Lagi pun filem tu dah lama dah !!!

'Memory Lane' Ipoh, macam macam ada....

Semalam 19/12/09 aku sekeluarga ke Ipoh. Ada kenduri kahwin pangkat pak sedara isteri aku. Aku ambil kesempatan untuk menginap dirumah angah selepas selesai menghadiri majlis. Lagi pun lama dah tak balik ke rumah angah dan dah lama tak pergi cari barang barang terpakai dan antik di 'Memory Lane'.

Hari ini pagi pagi lagi aku, isteri aku dan angah pergi ke tempat jualan barang barang lusuh dan terpakai di Ipoh. Ia nya terletak di sebatang jalan yang ditutup pada hari ahad untuk aktiviti jualan dan sepanjang jalan ini dipanggil "Memory Lane". Ada macam macam barang terpakai dijual disini. Aku rasa tak payah cerita lah sebab Utusan Malaysia baru baru ini ada siar artikel pasal "Memory Lane" ini (baca disini)

Aku cuma nak kongsi sedikit gambar yang aku rasa mencuit hati dan mungkin ada diantara kita tak pernah tengok atau jumpa.

1. Semasa nak cari parking aku ternampak sebuah kereta Mitshubishi Pajero yang penuh dengan patung patung permainan kecil yang selalu nya boleh didapati di Mc Donald atau Kentucky Fried Chicken. Boleh kata kan hampir seluruh body, depan, belakang dan bahagian dalam Pajero itu di lekatkan dengan patung patung permainan tersebut. Rajin sungguh tuan punya kereta ini melayan kerenah anak atau memang dia sendiri yang minat.

2. Di penghujung jalan 'Memory Lane' aku lihat orang ramai mengerumuni sesuatu. Aku menghampiri untuk melihat apa hal nya. Rupa nya ada seorang 'apek' dengan motor antik nya. Bukan untuk dijual tetapi dia nak balik setelah berkunjung kesini. Oleh kerana ada orang tanya dia pasal motor dia, jadi dia pun cerita lah dan aku pun snap, dapat 2 gambar. Aku lihat roadtax motor dia mati April 2010.

Yang best nya motor dia tu kalau yang umur macam aku ni mesti boleh ingat. Motor seperti yang selalu digunakan oleh askar German dalam siri 'Combat' dan juga cerita cerita bercorak perang antara Amerika dengan German. Mungkin cat motor 'apek' ini pun original kot.....

3. Gambar gambar dan majalah yang membabitkan artis dan pelakon zaman dulu seperti Alahyarham P.Ramlee, Saloma dan Roseyatimah adalah berlambak di pasar ini. Aku jengah satu demi satu gerai dan aku terpandang sesuatu yang aku pun tak pernah terjumpa. Apa dia?..
TENAGA NASIONAL ada mengeluarkan kasut. Bukti nya aku terjumpa kasut jenama 'Tenaga Nasional'. Sumpah !, aku dah bertugas dengan LLN/TNB dan aku tak pernah jumpa kasut cap Tenaga Nasional. Masa aku buruh am LLN dulu, kami dibekalkan dengan kasut BATA Badminton Master (kasut sekolah untuk anak anak orang kaya masa aku sekolah rendah).

Mungkin kasut berkenaan ditempah oleh TNB dan diguna untuk pekerja pejabat saja kot. Pekerja Power Station mana boleh pakai kasut macam tu. Kitaorang kena pakai safety shoes.

Tetamu tidak diundang bolos kawalan keselamatan 'White House State Dinner'

Pasangan Tareq Salahi dan Michaele Salahi yang tidak diundang tetapi berjaya memasuki Rumah Putih ( Dibawah adalah klip video CNN 'Breaking News' )

WASHINGTON: Perkhidmatan Rahsia Amerika Syarikat berkata ia sedang menyiasat bagaimana dua individu yang tidak diundang boleh menembusi beberapa peringkat kawalan keselamatan dan memasuki Rumah Putih.

Pasangan itu kemudian menghadiri jamuan malam yang diadakan untuk Perdana Menteri India, Encik Manmohan Singh.

Jurucakap Perkhidmatan Rahsia yang bertanggungjawab atas kawalan keselamatan di Rumah Putih, Encik Edwin Donovan, berkata:

'Siasatan awal mendapati salah satu pusat pemeriksaan tidak mematuhi prosedur yang betul untuk memastikan dua individu yang dikenal pasti dalam rencana yang ditulis di akhbar The Washington Post, termasuk dalam senarai mereka yang diundang.'

Encik Donovan bagaimanapun menegaskan pasangan itu kemudian melalui beberapa pusingan pemeriksaan keselamatan seperti para undangan yang lain.

Beliau turut menegaskan tiada sesiapa yang berada dalam bahaya ekoran perbuatan pasangan itu.

Menurut laporan akhbar The Washington Post, pasangan itu dikenal pasti sebagai Encik Tareq Salahi dan Cik Michaele Salahi, yang berasal dari bandar utara Virginia dan bercita-cita menjadi pelakon dalam rancangan realiti televisyen.

Mereka telah berada di bilik yang sama dengan Presiden Amerika, Encik Barack Obama, dan Encik Singh.

Namun tidak diketahui sama ada pasangan itu kemudian bertemu dengan kedua-dua pemimpin itu.

Kedua-dua mereka telah mendedahkan kejayaan mereka memasuki Rumah Putih di laman web sosial Facebook mereka.

Dalam laman itu, terdapat gambar mereka bersama Naib Presiden, Encik Joe Biden, Ketua Turus Rumah Putih, Encik Rahm Emanual, dan penyampai berita, Katie Couric. -- AFP.

Implikasi pencerobohan tersebut :
1. Amerika tidak sebagus dan secanggih mana pun. Mereka nampak bagus dan hebat kerana propaganda saja.
2. Pasangan tersebut berjaya memalukan pihak keselamatan Rumah Putih. Sudah tentu ketua keselamatan nya panas punggung akibat insiden ini.
3. Ini membukti kan bahawa setiap orang atau negara ada kelemahan dan kesilapan.

The three clever pigeons who help each other sup from a water fountain

They obviously have a better class of pigeon Down Under.

Instead of pecking around on the filthy pavements among cigarette butts and chewing gum, they prefer to sip filtered water and go to great lengths for a bath.

The trio pictured here, in Brisbane, Queensland, appear to have worked out a clever system of adapting the water fountain built by humans for their own pigeon purposes.

After waiting for the fountain to be free, one bird jumped on the lever and pushed it down to fill up the bowl, while another kept watch and the third splashed in.

When it had drunk its fill and cleaned its feathers, the third pigeon hopped up to the handle and let his friends have a go.

The three birds continued their bathing ritual for ten minutes, entertaining passers-by in Post Office Square, in Brisbane's bustling business district.

Unlike other birds, who take a sip of water and throw back their heads to swallow, pigeons suck up water using their beaks like straws.

Though they aren't very popular in this part of the world and are referred to as rats of the sky,

She doesn't have the grace of a Cindy Crawford or Elle MacPherson (yet), but a few struts on the catwalk may help HRP-4C loosen up and hit her stride. The walking, talking girlbot will be getting practice soon, as she's set to make her catwalk debut at a Tokyo fashion show next week.

Scientists from Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology reportedly designed the 5-foot (ish), dark-haired creation to look like an average Japanese woman between the ages of 19 to 29. Unlike the average Japanese woman, however, HRP-4C has 30 motors in its body that allow it to walk and move its arms (loudly and awkwardly, if the video below is any indication) and eight facial motors for blinking, smiling, and expressing emotions akin to anger and surprise.

According to the Associated Press, the robotic framework for the HRP-4C, sans face and other coverings, will sell for about $200,000, and the technology behind it will eventually be made public so people can come up their own moves for the bot.

The government-backed AIST says she's mostly being developed for the entertainment industry--for use in amusement parks, for example, or as an exercise teacher--and is not yet ready to help with daily chores. So unfortunately for those eager to hire HRP-4C as a home or office assistant, for now at least, her main job is to look pretty--or odd, depending on your perspective.

Sama ada gambar ini betul asli atau hanya 'trick' photoshop, terpulang lah kepada pandangan masing-masing. Bagi aku, jikalau gambar 'capasitor' ini betul ia adalah merbahaya. Mengapa mereka buat begini ?. Sudah pasti lah untuk jimat kos supaya barangan boleh dijual dengan harga yang murah. Kapasitor seperti ini terdapat pada hampir semua barangan elektronik termasuk komputer.

Kepada sesiapa yang beli barangan elektronik buatan China, anda kena terima hakikat yang Kapasitor seperti dalam gambar itu mungkin ada didalam barangan yang anda beli. Anda juga perlu lah bersedia untuk beli barangan yang baru, kerana kalau rosak, samaada tak boleh diperbaiki langsung atau kalau boleh 'repair' pun, nanti kos nya tak balik modal, lebih mahal dari beli baru.

Well designed equipment will usually put less then 40V on a 50V part (and a good 35V Device will do at 40 or even 50V for some time unless it operates in hot environment), and given adequate mains voltage and normal temperature, it will work even with 1/3 of the capacitance at modest load.

Now if the mains voltage falls to say, 215V instad of 230V (perfectly within the +-10% specification), temperature goes outside normal levels or load simply increases near maximum, the capacitor wont properly filter the voltage and all sorts of malfunctions will result.

Which can result in all sorts of damage depending on what sort of equipment is concerned.

This truly is a real classic Envelope sent by LHDN (Inland Revenue Board), a True story...

A taxpayer called up the LHDN (Inland Revenue Board) in Terengganu, and asked for Form B. The LHDN clerk who answered the call asked for the address to send the form to. The conversation goes:

LHDN CLERK : Boleh bagi alamat encik? (Can you give me your address?)

TAXPAYER : Ok, hantar ke Ranhill Worley. (Send to Ranhill Worley)

LHDN CLERK : Apa Ranhill? ...... eja macam mana? (err... How to spell Ranhill?)

TAXPAYER : R.. for Rumah... A for Ayam (Chicken).. N for Nangka (Jackfruit)... H for Holland (country) ... I for itik (Duck)... L for lain- lain(Others) ....

LHDN CLERK : Ok.. nanti kami hantar ke alamat itu (OK, we will send to that address..)

After waiting for a week, the form arrived - have a look at the address on the envelope!!!

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you to check this.

2. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friends clicked 'run' he ran up to Amritsar ! So, we request you to change that to 'sit', so that we can click that by sitting.

3. One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I
find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

4. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ' find'
button, but was unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

5. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft sentence', so when you will provide that?

6. I brought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon which shows 'MY Computer': when you will provide the remaining items?

7. It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

8. There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the PC at home only.

9. You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past Documents'?

10. You provide 'My Network Places'. For God shake please do not provide 'My Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office hours.

Sydney Opera House designer Jorn Utzon dies, aged 90

The Danish architect who designed the Sydney Opera House, Joern Utzon, has died in Copenhagen.The 90-year-old died of a heart attack in his sleep.

Mr Utzon started to study architecture in his late teens and graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1942. Later in World War II he fled Denmark to neutral Sweden before continuing his work in Finland.

In 1957, Mr Utzon entered a competition to design Sydney's new Opera House, winning over judges with his radical shell-like proposal.

His design came to fruition in 1973, seven years after he left the project over a dispute with the New South Wales Government.

Mr Utzon also went on to design several prominent buildings in his native Denmark but he will be best remembered for his world heritage-listed masterpiece in Sydney.

Mr Utzon never returned to Australia, but he was represented by his son at a ceremony to open a new colonnade at the Opera House in 2006.

Mr Utzon's designs for the interior of the Opera House were never realised, but in an interview in 2002 he showed no bitterness.

"It has become such a marvellous thing, or building, or whatever you call it for Australia and for the time, so I'm not to criticise," he said.

"I'm so happy about that. Sometimes in architecture it happens that a daring step into the unknown gives us great gifts for the future."

New South Wales patched up its differences with Mr Utzon in the late 1990s and his son is now working on restoring the Opera House's interior to its original design. Danish Minister of Culture Carina Christensen has paid tribute Mr Utzon.
